Declaration of Dependence

We hold these Truths to be self-evident (by that, I mean, once you accept them as True, you see how completely True they are):

That God created the universe, time itself, the earth and everything that ever was, is now, and ever will be.  All of Creation proclaims His mighty works.  Genesis 1 is so far ahead of modern scientific theories for explaining how it all came to be that it leaves just one rational explanation: God told Moses to write all that down and he did.  The Bible reveals His creating wisdom and His plan for our salvation.

That each of us is His special creation, made in His own image, endowed with universal gifts by His Grace:  the gift of Life, of Free Will, and the opportunity to walk each day in the blessings He has prepared for us, with His Holy Spirit as our guide, helper and very life, if  we but choose to accept these Divine Gifts.

That the more independent we feel, the more we are lying to ourselves.  We need to be coming to God for our “daily bread”, the things we need to get through each and every day.  And we recognize and admit that we need God’s forgiveness, that Jesus is the Bread of Life.  When we take of his Bread and Wine, his Body and Blood, we bring his love and forgiveness into our very being. There is no other response to this but to share his love with those around us, our loved ones, friends, neighbors and enemies.

That it is not enough to get through the day without murdering, stealing, committing adultery and so forth.  We know that God’s love for us, dying for us while we were still sinners and enemies of His Kingdom, is deeper, stronger and more amazing than even how we love ourselves.  It is self-evident that the only way to conquer hate is with love, His Love.  We cannot do this without His Helper, His Holy Spirit, for when we are weak, we are very strong.

And it becomes evident that when we love one another as He loves us, we fulfill all the Law and the Prophets.  We love God by loving each other.  And neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
